GoodTemps Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of religion, color, creed, national origin or any other protected class. Anyone is welcome to apply through GoodTemps. We are mission driven and it is our goal to help all those who come to us in need of a position no matter the barriers that a person may have.
GoodTemps Staffing has four basic requirements are that all applicants must be at least 18-years-old and be able to provide documentation establishing the individual’s right to work in the United States, a valid state driver’s license or identification card, a social security card or birth certificate as well as an updated resume. (Other forms of ID are accepted if you do not have the information listed above. Check with a GoodTemps Staffing Specialist for more information. If you do not have an updated resume we can help you with that too!)
Many of our clients have secondary requirements in order to be considered for that particular job. This can include things such as relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, or the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and test may be relevant to the position being offered.
GoodTemps Staffing accepts applications online or in person at one of our two locations in Muskegon and Holland. You can fill out an application packet Monday-Friday from 8am – 3:30pm. Please allow at least 45 minutes to complete the process and more if you need to create a resume.
Once the application has been completed, a GoodTemps Staffing Specialist will schedule you for an interview if you qualify for our services so we can learn more about you and determine where you interest and skill sets reside. Once this step is completed we will ask you call the designated Job Line weekly to let us know your availability if you have not yet been placed on assignment. GoodTemps will only place you on one assignment at a time. Our goal is to have you in a position that will eventually lead to full time.
Orientation occurs once you have been offered an assignment. GoodTemps will explain the company’s policies and procedures as well as cover strategies for work place safety and offer helpful tips for finding success during a job assignment.
You will also be asked to complete any final paper work that may be required by the employers and have a drug screen done or other testing required by employer at this time. Hours of employment, where to report, supervisors name and other details will be discussed at time as well. Once the orientation process is complete, applicants are immediately eligible to work the position they were just assigned.
GoodTemps Staffing does not have a set pay scale for the positions that we fill. Instead, the pay rates offered for each position are set by our client – the company whose location that the employees work at will determine the hourly pay rate, based on the criteria of the job.
GoodTemps pays employees on a weekly basis.
The work week runs Sunday through Saturday with the hours that you work during any given week are paid on the following Friday. Hours are submitted to GoodTemps before 4 pm on Mondays so you can be paid timely on the same Friday.
Checks are deposited directly in to your checking or savings account or a on a pay card provided by GoodTemps. Check stubs are mailed directly to the address you provide to us.
GoodTemps Staffing does require a criminal background check as part of our hiring criteria for all applicants. This is not a deterrent as we work with many felony friend businesses in the community.
In today’s ever changing economy, there is no such thing as a permanent position and companies are continually modifying their workforce to match their current business levels. GoodTemps positions is to find the perfect fit for you to establish a relationship with the employer so the position goes from being temporary to a full time opportunity after a probationary period. However, our services also designed for short-term in length, ranging from a single day to several weeks and months.
As with all things in life, what is put into the opportunity given helps determine the outcome. Things like punctuality, attendance, attitude, willingness to learn and adaptability all play a strong role in whether the client will consider a temporary employee for any open permanent positions.
